Equality, Diversion & Inclusion

As a recruiter in the legal arena, ABC is committed to working with our clients to encourage an inclusive, diverse and equal workplace for all.  We aim to eradicate prejudice and discrimination.

We use a number of methods of recruitment outside the traditional forms of referrals and internal recommendations, challenging old paradigms and providing a diverse choice of talent.  We strive for a global reach through platforms such as CV Library and Indeed and use their search tools to ensure we speak to those who may not even be aware of the abundant career opportunities within a set of barristers’ chambers.

Our aim is to educate those at the start of their careers about the potential career opportunities and progression in the field.  We are known for our presence at national careers fairs, the only specialist recruiter in the field to do so.  These events allow us to reach an untapped, diverse audience including many areas with students from underprivileged backgrounds.  We are a staunch advocate of the National Living Wage and London Living wage and encourage our clients to be responsible employers.

ABC has, and continues to be, instrumental in addressing the national gender disparity encouraging women to the profession and addressing unconscious bias in recruitment practices.  We encourage clients to consider flexible working and overcoming other such barriers to help fair progression for all.

We understand the importance of racial diversity and work closely with our clients to help them identify and adjust socially conditioned patterns of thinking, in order to eliminate discrimination against race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin.

As expected, all applications through ABC are considered solely on merit, regardless of race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origins, sex, disability, sexual orientation, age or religion or belief.  All E&D data collected throughout our recruitment process is available to our clients.
