This October, to mark Black History Month UK, we’ve been speaking with inspiring individuals working across chambers and the wider legal community about their journeys, reflections, and what this month means to them.
We’re delighted to feature Michelle Brown, PR Consultant at ABC Chambers Solutions.
👉 With over 25 years’ experience in PR, social media, and marketing, Michelle has worked with brands from Microsoft to Mercedes, and now helps barristers and chambers elevate their profile through expert PR, digital marketing, and personal brand development.
Michelle’s story spans the UK and Hong Kong, moving from tech PR to professional services before building a successful freelance portfolio career. She credits her mum – who came to England from Jamaica at 15 and built a career in midwifery while raising two children – as her greatest inspiration and the foundation of her perseverance and pride.
Reflecting on this year’s theme, ‘Standing Firm in Power and Pride,’ Michelle speaks candidly about her journey to reconnect with her cultural heritage and to use her voice to educate others. For her, Black History Month must be more than a conversation – it should drive continuous education, allyship, and meaningful action throughout the year.
We’re grateful to Michelle for sharing her story and insights with us as we continue to celebrate the power, pride, and contributions of Black professionals across the Bar.
