An exciting opportunity to join an established and friendly accounts team at a Barristers Chambers, to assist with the essential smooth administration of Chambers to the highest professional standards.

This is a part-time role, offering excellent flexibility with a mixture of office based and remote working. The successful candidate will be professional, adaptable and enjoy working as part of a reputable team. They will have experience of working in a similar role (not necessarily in Chambers) and be able to show initiative and diligence.

Requirements:
  • Educational background and relevant experience in Accounting/Finance.
  • Excellent writing and numerical skills.
  • Experienced user of Xero accounting software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, in person and in writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistently high levels of accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and to use initiative.
General Responsibilities:
  • General accounting responsibilities, including but not limited to bank reconciliation, journals, maintenance of nominal ledger, etc.
  • Input and processing of supplier invoices.
  • Reimbursement of staff expenses.
  • Preparation of Chambers VAT returns.
  • Maintenance of staff loan accounts.
  • Other support as required on an ad hoc basis and to provide continuity in the event of annual leave within the wider team.
