Training Module
Cybersecurity training is vital for barristers and chambers because they handle highly sensitive and confidential client information. A breach could lead to serious legal, financial, and reputational consequences.

Cybersecurity training is not just a technical necessity but a fundamental aspect of a barrister’s practice and Chambers protocol. By staying informed about cyber threats, barristers and Chambers can protect their clients, uphold their professional responsibilities, and prevent costly breaches.
The module provides practical guidance on common and emerging cyber threats, including social engineering, email and phone number spoofing, malicious apps and spyware. It addresses everyday risks such as weak passwords, insecure mobile devices, public Wi-Fi use and the dangers of connecting external devices. Participants are guided through best practice on encryption, mobile device management, multi-factor authentication and secure backup procedures, as well as emerging risks such as deepfakes.
By improving cyber hygiene and promoting consistent best practice across Chambers, this training helps barristers and staff recognise threats early, respond appropriately to incidents, and reduce the likelihood of costly and disruptive breaches. Staying informed about cybersecurity risks enables Chambers to protect their clients, uphold professional obligations and maintain confidence in an increasingly digital legal landscape.
